Start with the concerns and recalls:

1. Mark a condition code for each item:
• Select to indicate the concern is OK at this time. A recommendation cannot be entered but an internal comment is mandatory for the Service Advisor in the Technician Recommendation window (if configured for the dealership). Refer to Adding recommendations.
• Select to indicate the item is not applicable or not inspected. A recommendation cannot be entered but an internal comment is mandatory (if configured for the dealership). Use this condition code for recalls.
• Selecting or opens the item's Technician Recommendation window so a recommendation can be made and/or internal comment added.

Note: The Technician should always assign a recommendation to an appropriate concern rather than adding it to an associated inspection line item. This ensures the Service Advisor and customer can see how a specific concern is being addressed and prevents duplication of recommendations.

Continue with the inspection items:

2. Click "All OK", if enabled, to set all of the multi-point inspection items to 'OK'.
3. Mark a section all OK to set all of the inspection items in a section to 'OK' (if enabled for the dealership).
4. For each multi-point inspection item, select a condition code.
• Select to indicate the inspection item condition is OK at this time.
• Selecting or opens the item's Technician Recommendation window. Refer to Adding recommendations.
• (If available) Select to indicate the item is not applicable or not inspected.
• (If available) Select to indicate the item was checked and is OK or has been completed (for example fluid filled).
5. If measurements are required, for a tire or brake item for example, and the status is green ('OK'), they can be entered in-line without having to open the corresponding Technician Recommendation window. The window still needs to be opened to enter a recommendation.

If the condition code is or , the Technician can make one or more recommendations for the selected concern or inspection line item.

1. If 'Type-to-Search' is enabled for the dealership, it can be used to quickly locate matching services for the make from the drop-down list.

2. If a predefined service is not available, manually add a recommendation (if enabled for the dealership) by completing the ‘Recommendation’ text box, adding the ‘Hours’ (optional) and/or ‘OP Code’ (optional). Once completed, click to add the recommendation to the inspection.

Note: Manually-added recommendations remain in the list for other Technicians to use with this and inspection template and line. They are automatically deleted on a regular basis as configured by your dealership.

More than one recommendation can be selected or manually added. A recommendation can be removed from the list by clicking “x” to the right of the description.

Concerns and recalls:

For items in the Customer Concerns section:

• Generally there is no need to add a recommendation to a recall, so it is suggested that the item be marked with an appropriate internal comment (e.g. 'This recall will be completed as part of the service.')
• If the condition code is or , the recommendation fields are disabled but an internal comment must be entered (if configured for the dealership).
• If the condition code is or and no recommendation is made, an internal comment is also mandatory (if configured for the dealership).
• If the Technician tries to save the inspection without a required internal comment, appears by the item on the Inspection page.

The Technician needs to select “Parts Required” if parts pricing is needed or if there is a question of availability. Labor-only jobs (for example alignment, tire rotation) or menu-priced jobs (for example front brakes for a set price, coolant flush, etc.) do not require selecting “Parts Required” .

As an example; the Technician selects the text box ’Select services from the list’ and selects a pre-defined service, which can be factory scheduled maintenance, recommended services or other pre-built repairs. All of these will already have the pricing so the recommendation does not need to go to the parts department. Note that when you select the pre-defined services list, there may also be items listed that were added by Technicians, so some judgment is required as to what are normal maintenance items and what is a repair someone requested parts. A recommendation needs to be selected prior to selecting “Parts Required”.

Note: If enabled for your dealer, "Parts Required" is automatically selected when factory scheduled maintenance (FSM) is selected that has one or more associated parts.

Selecting “Parts Required” in the Technician Recommendation window sends an inspection notification to the Parts Advisor once the Technician marks the inspection completed.

Each tire recommendation item has attributes that need to be completed to communicate to the customer the true condition of each tire. The tire pressure will be pre-populated if the reading was captured on the service drive in wiADVISOR Dashboard. The Technician will need to complete the remaining fields as applicable.

Each brake recommendation item has attributes that need to be completed to communicate to the customer the true condition of each brake.

1. Lowest Pad - this measurement should be the lowest pad recorded.
2. Brake Pads – this measurement should be the lowest pad recorded.
3. Condition indicator icon to indicate lowest pad (green, yellow, red).
   

A single photo or video can be added to the inspection. It is not associated with a specific recommendation and can be used to communicate an 'All OK' message, or a general message to the customer.

Inspection-level media is captured using Visual MPI in the same way it is for recommendations. Scan the QR code to start.

Once the media is captured, select "Refresh" under the QR Code to complete loading it. A thumbnail appears to expand and review it.

The photo or video is included with the inspection results. The Service Advisor can review it and decide whether to include it in the Digital MPI message to the customer.
